●琉球鱶漁舟帆漕競技（Sabani Race）
私たちは、古くから沖縄に伝わる風習や伝統文化をヒントに商品を製作してきました。優れた海洋文化の象徴でもあるサバニもその一つです。
「SABANI」のTシャツを製作するにあたって、各地の漁港や舟だまりへ行ってサバニを見、資料を集め、博物館に行って実測する毎に、サバニの魅力に取り付かれてしまいました。２００３年からは、石垣島白保のサバニ大工新城さんに造って頂いた「本はぎ」のサバニで、座間味−那覇間約３５kmを風と人力のみで競うサバニ帆漕レースにも参加しています。

Sabani Race
※Sabani is a traditional wooden ship of Okinawa.
We get a hint from the tradition culture spread to Okinawa from of old and have produced the commodity. Sabani of an excellent maritime culture is one of them. It is one of Sabani that is the symbol of an excellent maritime culture. When T-shirt of Sabani was made, I observed Sabani in a lot of fishing ports and the ship depositories. I collected material and measured it in the museum. In every case, I have clung to the charm of Sabani. We have been taking part in a race since 2003 by traditional Sabani that the carpenter Arashiro of the Shiraho-Ishigakijima living made. The race competes from Zamami to the Okinawa island for about 35km only by the force of the wind and human strength. |
